Assurance
EXXCEL Project Management's first priority is workplace safety. We endeavor to maintain
a workplace free from recognized hazards by providing team members with the proper training and
resources so they may follow the required safety practices.
We believe safety is a systematic effort, we also provide safety guidelines to our subcontractors so
they understand our safety commitment and the expected job-site behaviors.
Our commitment to this effort is demonstrated using specific examples outlined bellow:
- We provide a comprehensive training/orientation program for Team Members and Subcontractors.
- Included in the training program is a handbook, that is given to each participant. The handbook
includes our safety regulations, role responsibilities, jobsite inspections, accident investigations,
emergency evacuation plans, policy enforcement and program measurement techniques.
- Because of our commitment to provide a drug-free workplace, we drug test all newly hired Team Members,
as well as "for cause." We also require pre-job drug testing and certification before subcontractors
are permitted on a site.
EXXCEL has contracted with independent safety consultants since our organization began. We
currently have a five-year relationship with Today's Resources. We have access to many years of
expertise in the area of safety with Today's Resources' staff including the owner's experience as a past
director for OSHA.
Today's resources provides services such as a weekly job site inspections, immediate verbal reporting
on code violations, written audit reporting and corrective action planning.

We are proud to demonstrate our safety program has proven to be effective resulting in fewer accidents than the
industry standard and no lives lost:
Approximately twenty percent of Ohio employers participate in the BWC's Experience Modification Rating (EMR) Incentive
Program. This program, created by the BWC, promotes safe working conditions by rewarding a discounted state fund
insurance premium to participating employers with accident rates below the industry standard. If the accident rates
are above the industry standard, the employer is penalized by having to pay higher state fund insurance
premiums.
Because we believe in our safety program, we participate in the Experience Rating Incentive Program . For the past ten
Years, EXXCEL's experience modification rates have been at or below the industry standard as demonstrated bellow:

The most important aspect of any safety program is its effectiveness in preventing accidents & saving lives. Because
EXXCEL's safety program is so effective, our organization has won many awards that recognize our achievements in
the area of safety:
- The Builders Exchange of Central Ohio is the state's oldest and largest commercial construction trade association in its
111th year of service to the industry. The association is considered the construction industry's resource for
communication, education services and recognition. Before an organization is recognized via a safety award by the
builders exchange, that organization must pass a comprehensive evaluation process which measures them against
national workplaces injuries/illness standards and practices.
- Received the Builders Exchange Safety Recognition award.
EXXCEL has been approved as a leading contractor in a new partnership between the Occupational Safety
and Health Administration (OSHA) and the builders exchange of Central Ohio (BX). EXXCEL is one of just
twenty-one local firms in the partnership which signals a new approach to occupational safety - in a significant
departure from OSHA's traditional role as a reactive regulatory agency. Companies that participate in the partnership
receive substantial benefits from OSHA's, including exemption from programmed inspections, in exchange for
implementing significant safety strategies and training. Annually, approximately 5,000 workers die in the United States
with another four million injured. The BX/OSHA partnership aims to combat these statistics, by motivating and rewarding
companies that proactively attack safety.
The partnership is the first of its kind in central Ohio, with 21 "inaugural Members" including general contractors,
subcontractors and suppliers. "this is truly unprecedented coming from a government agency with a reputation as the
safety police" said Cathy Blackford, executive director of the building exchange.
"We're thrilled that OSHA is no longer just looking for violations, but instead recognizing the companies who are doing
the right things and who care about their employee's health and safety," she said.
EXXCEL Project Management began operations in 1991, and is a national provider of design-build construction services
to corporations, developers and institutional investors.
- For over thirty years, the Associated general contractors of Ohio has been the "voice" of state and national pro-industry
legislative issues. The association's support of our industry, at both national and state levels, includes recognizing
organizations that promote and demonstrate positive safety practices. Certificates of Commendation are awarded through
the National AGC Safety Awards (NASA) program. This program also requires an organization to pass a comprehensive
evaluation process with safety excellence being measured for particular divisions.
- EXXCEL was awarded "NO lost time accidents" certification for the construction management division in 1997-2005
Exxcel also received the national NASA award in 1997-2005 for having a consistent Construction Management division rating
of 25% less than the industry average.
