On February 5th 2008 a massive storm struck Memphis Tennessee damaging several buildings in the South Park Industrial Center. Two buildings, consisting of more than 472,000 Sqft, were severely damaged. While Building G, 101,000 Sqft, was considered salvageable, Building H, 371,000 Sqft, was thought to be damaged beyond repair and was suggested to be demolished. In early December 2008, EXXCEL presented an analysis resulting in a cost effective solution to salvage both buildings main components, creating an outstanding value for the potential owner. In response Kansas City Life, purchased the buildings and hired EXXCEL to design and reconstruct both of them. The Previous Cost estimates from other contractors were in excess of 10 million dollars to reconstruct Building G and demolish Building H, within an 18 month time frame. Because of EXXCEL’s thorough analysis both buildings were reconstructed for significantly under the ten million dollar estimate, within a 6 month period. Saving our client millions of dollars in construction costs while simultaneously salvaging a 371,000 Sqft building that would have otherwise been destroyed.
